Devlog - Inventory UI/Particle System - Douglas Strange



The inventory UI is working! Now I need to add a few more sections of code to connect it to the inventory system and allow item slots to remove items from the UI as well. I managed to get a debug command in the inventory manager that displays a single item which can be changed in the editor. Now I just need to create a command that checks the inventory for it’s contents and displays them.

I have also added a particle system to the Main Menu for a sort of snowing effect. This gives a bit of animation for the player to enjoy and according to my mid term professor also tells the player that the game has not crashed. I also restyled the buttons to use sprites from our assets so that they fit more within the game world. My next update to the Main Menu will likely be fixing the bland title.

Now that I have had a little time away from the inventory I plan to return to connect the UI to the player’s inventory for a better user experience.
