Devlog - 10/24/24 - Transition Script

With the progress on the farm from last week, the best way to move forward is to work on the Player's home. Which came with its own set of dilemmas and problems.  First dilemma was deciding whether all the indoor sections should be in one scene or in the same map as the respective outdoor scene; I decided on a scene for all the interior sections. Design-wise I wasn't to happy with the original idea I had, and decided to make some changes in the design to fit what I wanted.

 

This is where the problem comes in, Unity doesn't make transitions easy. So for these doors I made a transition script; in which this script will have continued use for later transitions; So that I can link each door to their respective location and scenes and spawn the player there.

I am quite happy with how it came out already. Just need to add persistence to the game so that everything is still there even through scene changes. Before I work on the town exterior I plan to make some final changes to the farm like setting up the interactable gate that I temporarily removed to show that the player can still walk through that gap.
